The squirrel's thick fur has a reddish sheen. The large, bushy tail is particularly pretty. The nimble forest dweller balances skilfully from branch to branch. It is busy collecting nuts for the winter supply. It only pauses now and again when it hears something. Then it looks around with cute black beady eyes and jumps like lightning from branch to branch in the treetop. 

Shoo! The squirrel dashes across the forest floor so quickly that you can only see it out of the corner of your eye. It jumps purposefully onto the trunk of the hazelnut tree, then higher up into the fork of the branch. Here hang the delicious nuts! It hurriedly picks a fruit from the branch and climbs down the tree to its hiding place. Here it collects nuts for the winter. The squirrel is a master of stockpiling. And it's cute too!
