Deep-winter nights meet their match — waffle texture plus 2.5 TOG, zipped over a bare crib.
Deep teal — the high-saturation solid in the line.
The winter 2.5 TOG, rebuilt on a waffle knit. Rated for a cold 61–68°F nursery, the textured weave adds loft that holds warmth without the bulk of a heavier bag.
Why waffle. The waffle weave adds loft and holds warmth against the skin, so a cold-room bag stays warm without the bulk — same TENCEL™ fiber, same safe-sleep cut.
Material. A waffle-knit TENCEL™ Lyocell shell over a fuller layer of DuPont™ Sorona insulation for cold rooms. The waffle adds loft and texture without bulk. TENCEL™ is Lenzing's closed-loop wood-pulp fiber, certified to OEKO-TEX Standard 100.
The print. Deep teal-peacock solid. Reads richer than expected against neutral nursery walls.
Construction. Sleeveless on purpose, so your baby sheds heat instead of trapping it. A two-way zipper runs the length of the bag, so a midnight diaper change takes seconds and wakes nobody. The neck and arm openings are bound in soft fabric, not scratchy serged edges, and cut snug — the part that matters most for safe sleep.
Waffle vs smooth TENCEL™. The smooth-weave TENCEL™ bag is the everyday workhorse. The waffle is the one that gets photographed and the one that gets requested by name at the next baby shower. Functionally similar, surface-different. Most households end up owning both.
Adjacent TOGs in the same print. Room warmed up to 69–75°F? The 1.0 TOG TENCEL™ Sleep Bag in Peacock is the year-round weight. For warm summer nurseries above 75°F, the 0.5 TOG Muslin Sleep Bag.
Sizing. 0–6M (8–18 lb), 6–18M (18–28 lb), 18–36M (28–38 lb).
Care. Machine wash cold and tumble dry low. The waffle texture relaxes in the wash and springs back in the dryer. Don't bleach, and don't iron the printed areas.
Safety & certification. AAP safe-sleep compliant and tested to CPSC, CPSIA, and ASTM standards. The material is certified to OEKO-TEX Standard 100, and Loulou Lollipop is a Certified B Corporation.
Common questions
When is a 2.5 TOG sleep sack the right choice?
When the nursery sits between 61 and 68°F overnight — cold-snap winter, drafty older homes, basement bedrooms. Below 61°F you're past sleep-sack territory and into raising the thermostat.
Will a 2.5 TOG be too warm for an average winter nursery?
If your nursery sits at 69–75°F overnight in winter, the 1.0 TOG TENCEL™ is the right weight. The 2.5 TOG is for genuinely cold rooms. Doubling a sleeper under a 1.0 TOG is also a common winter solution — but that can actually overheat your baby faster than a single 2.5 TOG bag would.
What is DuPont™ Sorona insulation?
Sorona is a plant-based polymer fiber DuPont produces from corn-derived feedstock. It traps warmth without bulk, so a 2.5 TOG sleep bag doesn't feel like a winter parka on a six-month-old. It also keeps its loft through wash cycles longer than polyester batting.
